What happens when a Puritan Panda and a Fallen Ape-Theist sit down to discuss truth, morality, and the meaning of Christianity?
Brian, better known online as Puritan Panda, joins Richard, the Fallen Ape-Theist, for a thoughtful and surprisingly agreeable conversation about whether knowledge must be subordinated to something greater, whether truth can be separated from love, and whether objective morality requires God.
Along the way, they discuss competing religious visions, Christian hope, human behavior, propaganda, political and religious tribalism, the danger of placing loyalty to leaders above moral principles, and why both Christians and atheists can become trapped within networks that protect bad behavior. They also wrestle with religious disagreement, the failures of Christian institutions, the meaning of faith, and what evidence might cause either of them to reconsider their beliefs.
This is not a formal debate. It is an honest conversation between people who profoundly disagree, frequently find unexpected common ground, and attempt to understand what the other person actually believes.Email me at badfruitpodcast@gmail.com with any questions or comments, would love to hear from you.

The Baptist Blue Jay. - 062

Jonathan is joined by the Baptist Blue Jay, an independent fundamentalist Baptist, King James preferring dispensationalist, and member of the online Theological Zoo.
They discuss Blue Jay’s journey through modern evangelicalism and the IFB world, his experiences at Bible college, the problems with entertainment-driven churches, worship music from Bethel, Hillsong, and Elevation, his preference for the King James Version, and his defense of dispensationalism.
A Lutheran and a fundamentalist Baptist will obviously disagree on quite a bit, but this friendly and occasionally ridiculous conversation also uncovers some surprising common ground.Questions or comments email us at badfruitpodcast@gmail.com

In Part 2 of our Pentecostalism series, we follow the family tree after Azusa Street. This episode traces the postwar healing revival, Oral Roberts, William Branham, Kathryn Kuhlman, the New Order of the Latter Rain, the Charismatic Movement, the Third Wave, Vineyard, the Toronto Blessing, televangelism, prosperity preaching, Bethel, IHOPKC, and the modern apostolic-prophetic world.
This is not a straight line. It is a family tree. Not every Pentecostal is Bethel, not every Charismatic is Word of Faith, and not every branch belongs in the same category. But if we want to understand modern evangelicalism, worship culture, healing ministries, prophetic networks, and the way millions of Christians talk about the Holy Spirit, we have to understand how this movement spread, mutated, and reshaped the modern church.Questions or comments or just want to say hello? In this episode Jonathan is joined by Pastor Koenig to talk about this important topic. We talk about the role of tradition and the difference between SOLA and SOLO scriptura.
